Deadspace is a musical collective of eclectic personalities from Perth, Western Australia.
It can often be difficult to pin point an appropriate, all encompassing genre that correctly diagnoses their sound. Influences are absorbed from black metal, depressive rock, melodic death metal, post rock/post black metal and 80s goth rock.
Perhaps the most prevalent trait that is most obvious throughout the bands entire essence is that no matter what the current aesthetic, the music is 100% emotionally driven and inspired.
Beginning in 2014, the band has a 2015 release “The Promise of Oblivion’ under their belt already, and two official EP's.
2016's “Gravity” EP is a heavy, sombre, tortured yet somehow empowering reflection on life, death, the human condition and emotion.
Going back to their DSBM roots, Deadspace collaborated with DSBM band Happy Days, which was sparked from signing to Talheim Records early in 2017. The split EP "Reaching for Silence" was released in September 2017.
Even though the year is almost over, the band has saved their best for last. ‘Long awaited full length follow up to 2015's "Promise of Oblivion" comes The Liquid Sky’ which will be released on November 15th, just as the band embark on more relentless touring, covering Japan and Australia, to support this latest epic.
